The Tomb
The story of Mary and Jesus Christ

The Annunciation
The archangel Gabriel visits Mary. She has been praying and reading scripture in her garden. The angel tells her she will have a son whom shall be king forever. In reverence, Mary embraces the divine message though she has never known or been with a man. Somehow she will give birth to the son of God. This prophecy is beautiful however the birth of any child is also difficult. The young Mary is awe struck in her reaction. Gabriel reassures her, and he points to heaven because his message is from God. Mary brings her arms in to her heart as she feels deep emotion. Mary’s son, Jesus, he is to be the Christ that the world is waiting for, the promised one.

Humility
Christ has arrived into Mary’s arms. she is so happy to have a special son. The arrival of her firstborn is the fulfilment of the secret prophecy delivered to her by Gabriel. Mary often wonders though, what will become of him. They each hold Lillies as symbols of Gabriel.
Crucified
Christ has died on the cross. Mary, his mother was there when he was killed. She weeps holding his lifeless body. He gave out his last breath and then a soldier speared him in his side to make sure that he was dead. Water flowed out from within Christ. Now, the tomb awaits the dead son of God. The unclean spirit of fear and doubt preys upon this tragic outcome.

The Resurrection
Sunday morning, and Christ has been resurrected. He presents himself to a grieving Mary, and she is now overjoyed. His mission has been to redeem mankind has been a success but not everyone sees it that it was that way. Those who can’t see the resurrection themselves.
Notice the cross is central, being in the exact middle of the picture to demonstrate how much it matters. Also, Christ and Mary’s eye line is level with each other and the horizon, to show that he is gracious to all. His blessing hand gesture is the “vanishing point” (visual convergence) of the perspective, to bring to the viewer a focus on the blessings
